IAS News: Adult & Pediatric Neuropsychology in 2023

Clinical neuropsychology is generally understood to be the study of the relation between brain function and behavior. Neuropsychological test data serves as an aid in the development of treatment options and creates efficient individualized management of patient care. Neuropsychology is a recognized psychological specialty which meets Daubert standards and exceeds Frye standards for expert testimony. The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requires that the use of adequately normed and standardized psychological and neuropsychological tests be administered and the results interpreted by qualified professionals.

When administered and scored properly, a battery of neuropsychological tests yields a highly accurate understanding of the cognitive and behavioral abilities and deficits of an examinee, providing the examiner with an objective description of which areas of behavior and cognition are likely to be problematic and which areas are within normal limits.

Neuropsychological and Psychological procedures frequently administered include:

  • MMPI-3
  • MCMI-IV
  • SIRS-2 Test
  • Bender Gestalt Test
